More and more and especially in the area of complex infrastructural objects such as tunnels road designers develop so called closed shape road restraint systems like the Jersey kerb or the Step barrier.
SPIE was asked by the Norwegian Road Authorities Statens Vegvesen to supply a closed shaped emergency gate barrier CADO, also electrical powered.

The first one was installed at the Strindheimtunnel in Trondheim.
