Problem
In certain situations of emergency, emergency vehicles have to reverse the direction of travel immediately.

Solution
By opening the highway emergency gate barrier, a calamity passage allows a highway U-turn for emergency vehicles. Not only does the CADO create an exit for emergency vehicles, it is also used as a to U-turn traffic in the event of blocked road sections.
